Biography

Has been one of UCO’s top relievers each of the past two seasons and is ready to continue that this spring . . . Was the main closer in 2012 and should get plenty of chances in that role . . . Hard-throwing right-hander who thrives in late-inning situations and will have a big impact on the pitching staff . . Spent a redshirt year at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa before coming to Edmond.
 
2012:  Saved a team-best three games with a 5.32 earned run average . . . Appeared in 11 games and struck out 23 batters in 22 innings while walking nine . . . Allowed one hit with three strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings to gain first save in 3-1 win over Northwest Missouri . . . Also earned saves in finishing off close wins over Southwest Baptist and St. Gregory’s, giving up one hit in one full inning against both . . . Made his first career start against Southern Nazarene.
 
2011:  Put together a strong season in finishing 2-0 with one save and a tidy 2.33 ERA, with opponents hitting a paltry .211 . . . Pitched in 11 games, all in relief, and gave up just 19 hits and seven earned runs in 27 innings while striking out 30 . . . Picked up wins against Angelo State and Newman, with lone save coming in 7-3 win over Oklahoma Christian on four-inning, one-hit, six-strikeout outing . . . Allowed just one hit and fanned seven in a season-high seven innings against Southeastern Oklahoma, though he didn’t figure in the decision . . . Earned both wins and the save in his last four games while compiling an 0.82 ERA, giving up six hits and one earned run in 11 innings.
 
High School:  Baseball-football standout at Weatherford High School . . . All-State pick on the diamond as a senior in leading the Eagles to a state runner-up finish . . . Also an All-District pick in football.
 
Personal:  Marketing major . . . Enjoys playing video games in his spare time . . . Names the Oklahoma City Thunder as his favorite professional team . . . Lists “Varsity Blues” as his top sports movie . . . Birthdate is Oct. 31, 1990.
