Biography

Senior veteran and returning starter looking to retain a spot the lineup at either second base or shortstop . . . Fine defender who spent most of his time at shortstop last year, but also saw action at catcher, second base and third base . . . Will undoubtedly get plenty of playing time somewhere on the field and is looking to end his career with a flourish . . . Line-drive hitter who can also hit the ball out of the park and a speedster capable of creating havoc on the base paths.

2009:   Only player on the team to start all 55 games, finishing with a .290 average and a team-high 55 runs scored . . . Rapped 12 doubles and eight home runs while driving in 45 runs and also stole 18 bases . . . Started 33 games at shortstop in addition to 12 games at catcher, seven at third base and three at second . . . Had 15 multi-hit games, including one stretch of four straight . . . Ended the season with a five-game hitting streak, batting .578 (11-for-19) with 11 runs, four doubles and four RBI in that stretch . . . Went 3-for-4 with two homers, a double and seven RBI in series-opening 17-7 win over Angelo State . . . Also went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, homer and five RBI in wild 18-13 loss to eventual national runner-up Emporia State.

2008:  Played in 24 games with five starts, seeing most of his time at second base . . . Batted .286 while scoring 11 runs and driving in three . . . Went 2-of-2 with a run scored in early-season win over West Texas A&M and ripped a two-run triple against Indianapolis.

2007:  Saw action in 15 games, making four starts . . . Batted .400 with seven runs scored and four RBI in 15 at bats.
2006: Sat out a redshirt season.

High School:  Three-sport athlete at Pawnee High School . . . Two-time All-Area Player of the Year on the diamond . . . Helped the Bears win state championships in football and basketball.

Personal:  A business major . . . Has four brothers . . . Ranks Chipper Jones as his favorite athlete . . . Birthdate is Dec. 6, 1986.
