Lily Melton Leads Bronchos In Season Debut

Central Oklahoma Sophomore Posts Historic Time In Top 20 Finish

TULSA, Okla. – Central Oklahoma sophomore Lily Melton had a strong season debut finishing 17th at the Rogers State Distance After Dark 5k Thursday night at Mohawk Park.

Central Oklahoma finished 11th in the team standings among 17 programs competing.

Melton raced to a top 20 finish in her first career event for the Bronchos. She finished the 5k in 18:36. The time is also the ninth fastest 5k in UCO history.

Lily Horvath was the second Bronchos across the finish line, making her UCO debut with a 19:20 for a 36th-place finish. A host of Bronchos were grouped together at the 20-minute mark.

Julia Trost (20:22), Regan Jones (20:29), Ariane Williams (20:30), Hadlee Mann (20:35), and Autumn Hickok (20:48) all finished close together. McKenna Huston (22:46) and Abagail Bloyed (22:47).

With Thursday night's race, Central Oklahoma's 2026 season is underway. The Bronchos will race again Sept. 19 at Missouri Southern's annual Southern Stampede.
