Central Oklahoma Hosts Southeastern, CSU Pueblo

Bronchos Play Two Non-Conference Duals Friday & Saturday In Edmond

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma is back on the court this weekend for a pair of non-conference matchups at Broncho Courts.
 
UCO is 2-1 on the young season and hasn't played since Feb. 13. The Bronchos host Southeastern Oklahoma State and Colorado State – Pueblo on Friday and Saturday respectively. First serve for Friday's matchup against SE is scheduled for 1 p.m. while the Bronchos will host CSUP Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
Southeastern is 2-2 on the season and Pueblo is 0-5.
 
UCO in three matches this season has an overall doubles record of 7-1, taking advantage of strong play in the beginning of its duals to gain an early point. The Bronchos are led by Pete Komada and Mei Hasegawa, who are 3-0 at the No. 1 position. Anika Ouwejan and Ayaka Koga are also 3-0 at the No. 2 position.
 
Central Oklahoma is 11-6 overall in singles play. Komada, who is ranked No. 15 in the country, is 3-0 on the year playing at the No. 2 position. Hasegawa, who joined the team at the semester break, is 2-1 playing at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.
 
Koga and Ouwejan have both played No. 3, with Koga going 1-0 and Ouwejan 1-1 at that spot in the lineup. Koga is also 0-1 at the No. 4 position, where Dilay Ata is 1-1 on the year.
 
Karyna Yurchenko is 2-0 at the No. 5 position. Ata is 0-1 at that spot. Hui Soo is 1-1 at the No. 6 position for the Bronchos.
 
Central Oklahoma will play two matches in San Angelo, Texas next weekend. The Bronchos take on Texas A&M Kingsville and Angelo State at ASU's facility. The Bronchos will also play two in Conway, Arkansas against Harding (March 11) and Henderson State (March 12), plus one more non-conference match against Division I North Texas (March 16).
 
The Bronchos open MIAA play with the first of nine league duals March 24 at Newman.
