Central Crushes Ouachita Friday In Edmond

Bronchos Win 7-0, Going 9-for-9 In Non-Conference Dual

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma made quick work of Ouachita Baptist Friday afternoon, winning 7-0 in the non-conference matchup at Broncho Courts.
 
UCO won all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0, then cruised through singles play to get the shutout victory.
 
Mei Hasegawa and Pete Komada won 6-2, as did Ayaka Koga and Anika Ouwejan, while Hui Soo and Karyna Yurchenko won 6-1 to give the Bronchos the early advantage.
 
All six singles matches were straight-set wins for UCO.
 
Hasegawa won 6-1, 6-2 and Komada won 6-1, 6-4. Koga and Dilay Ata both won 6-1, 6-1 in the middle of the lineup. And Yurchenko (6-4, 6-2) and Soo (6-4, 6-2) handled the backend with ease.
 
Central Oklahoma improved to 2-1 on the young season with the win. The Bronchos continue a five-game season-opening homestand in two weeks with Southeastern Oklahoma State on Feb. 27 and Colorado State Pueblo on Feb. 28 in Edmond.
