Bronchos Blanked In Dallas

Central Oklahoma Drops Non-Conference Match At No. 7 Dallas Baptist

DALLAS – Central Oklahoma came up short in an upset bid of No. 7 Dallas Baptist Saturday night, falling in the non-conference match 3-0.

UCO is now 0-2-2 on the season. The Bronchos play another non-con on the road next Wednesday at Southern Nazarene before returning for just their second home match of the season Sunday, Sept. 21 against Southwestern Oklahoma State.

"You can't afford to get behind against a good team like this," UCO head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "We made it hard on ourselves right out of the gate and couldn't recover."

Central Oklahoma conceded a goal in the sixth minute and was forced to play from behind the rest of the night. The Bronchos kept it 1-0 through halftime but conceded a second score in the 48th minute that gave comfort to the host Patriots. DBU put the finishing touch on the 3-0 win with a goal in the 79th minute.

Avery Bass played all 90 minutes in goal and made four saves. She faced 11 shots on the night and seven were on goal.

UCO took eight shots on the night but only put one on target. Emma Nicholas took a shot in the 24th minute that was saved by DBU. The Bronchos also earned three corner kicks in the match but couldn't produce a result on the set pieces.
