Central Falls At Southeastern

Bronchos Lose 5-2 At SOSU

DURANT, Okla. – Central Oklahoma's win streak came to an end on a tough afternoon with a 5-2 loss at Southeastern Oklahoma State.
 
UCO is 4-2 on the season following Friday's loss. Sunday's match against Dallas Baptist has been postponed due to forecasted weather in Edmond. That match will now be played March 23 and is still the next competition on the schedule for the Bronchos.
 
Friday, Central Oklahoma got behind early losing the doubles point for the first time this season. Southeastern won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, but UCO responded with a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles and leave the point up to the third position. SOSU took it with a 7-6 (7-4) win to go in front 1-0 in the match.
 
Southeastern went in front 2-0 with a win at No. 5 singles, where Hui Soo lost 6-3, 6-3. Pete Komada got UCO on the board with a win at No. 2 singles, taking a 6-4, 6-4 decision to make it 2-1.
 
SOSU extended its lead to 3-1 with a win at No. 3 singles, where Ayaka Koga lost 6-3, 4-6, 0-6. The host Savage Storm clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles over Nefeli Zafeiri.
 
Anika Ouwejan won 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 at No. 4 singles to make it 4-2, but Karyna Yurchenko lost at No. 6 singles to make it the final, 5-2.
