Bronchos Dominate All-MIAA Wrestling Team

Todd Steidley Named Coach of the Year and Studd Morris is Co-Wrestler of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma dominated the All-MIAA Wrestling awards that were announced Wednesday, with Todd Steidley named MIAA Coach of the Year and Studd Morris selected as MIAA co-Wrestler of the Year.

The Bronchos finished 5-0 to capture the conference championship for the fifth straight time in stretching their MIAA winning streak to 25 in a row.

Steidley was chosen MIAA Coach of the Year for the fourth time. The ninth-year coach has a 114-13 dual record and has led the Bronchos to five league titles, four regional crowns and two national championships.

UCO had five wrestlers named First Team All-MIAA – Morris at 125 pounds, Dylan Brown at 149, Gabe Johnson at 157, Hunter Jump at 165 and Garrett Wells at 184. Josh Taylor (141) and Emmanuel Skillings (197) were Second Team All-MIAA picks.

Morris shared Wrestler of the Year honors with Nebraska-Kearney heavyweight Crew Howard. A senior from Yukon, Morris is 23-1 on the season with 13 bonus-point wins and enters this weekend's Super Regional IV Tournament as the top-ranked 125-pounder in Division II.

Brown, a senior from Cleveland, is 13-4 on the season with seven bonus wins. Johnson, a junior from Choctaw and the defending national champion, is 19-1 with 14 bonus victories.

Jump, a senior from Duncan, has a 14-5 record with nine bonus wins. Wells, a sophomore from Glenpool, is 15-4 with nine bonus wins.

Taylor, a sophomore from Skiatook, is 19-2 with 10 bonus victories. Skillings, a junior from Broken Arrow, is 14-6 with six bonus wins.
