Hunter Jump Named MIAA Wrestler of the Week

Central Oklahoma Senior Went 2-0 This Week In Leading Bronchos To MIAA Title

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Hunter Jump was named MIAA Wrestler of the Week Tuesday, earning the final award of the 2024-25 season.

UCO won seven Wrestler of the Week awards in 12 weeks this season. Jump earned the honor for the first time following a grand finale to the regular season for the Bronchos.

Saturday in Warrensburg, Missouri, Central Oklahoma leveled Central Missouri 33-4 to win its fifth consecutive MIAA Champiohship. Jump had the lone fall of the day at 165 pounds. The senior trailed 3-1 after the first period, but surged in front with an escape, takedown and three-point near-fall in the second before turning a third-period takedown into his fourth pin of the season.

Sunday in Edmond, UCO destroyed New Mexico Highlands 54-0 in the season finale. Jump struck for a takedown 15 seconds into his match, then added two more along with a pair of near-falls in a 16-1 thrashing.

Jump improved to 14-5 this season with this week's wins.

Central Oklahoma 13-1 dual record this season in winning the MIAA title for the fifth consecutive season. The Bronchos are preparing for the NCAA Division II Super Region IV Championships Saturday, March 1 in Warrensburg.

The 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships are scheduled for March 14-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana, where UCO will aim for a third-straight national title.

Jump is the fifth Broncho wrestler to earn MIAA Wrestler of the Week this season. Josh Taylor picked up the honor in Week 1, Eli Kirk nabbed it in Weeks 2 & 8, Studd Morris earned it in Weeks 5 & 7, and Garrett Wells brought it home last week.
