Central Oklahoma Senior Went 5-0 To Win the Midwest Classic

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Branson Britten was named MIAA Wrestler of the Week following his run to a title at the Midwest Classic this past weekend.

Britten, from Amarillo, Texas, went 5-0 to win the 184-pound title at the loaded tournament and led UCO to a third-place finish.

Britten capped the title run with a win over No. 1-ranked Keegan Gehihausen of Chadron State 8-1 in the finals. The senior also beat No. 5-ranked Patrick Johnson of Gannon 5-1 in the semifinals.

Overall, Britten outscored his opponents 30-4 in his five matches. He recorded a decision and a fall on Saturday in the opening rounds, then won by major decision in the quarterfinals before his two decisions over top-ranked opponents to win the tournament.

Britten is the third Broncho to earn the MIAA Athlete of the Week title this season and the first MIAA wrestler to earn the honor at 184 pounds.

Central Oklahoma wraps up the 2025 calendar year with a home dual against Maryville Friday at 7 p.m. at Hamilton Field House.
