Jett Huff Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Junior Quarterback Threw For 449 Yards, Five TDs In Win Over Emporia State

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma junior quarterback Jett Huff was named MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week presented by FieldTurf the league announced Monday following a historic performance at Chad Richison Stadium Saturday night.

Huff threw for 449 yards and five touchdowns as Central Oklahoma flew past Emporia State 56-22 in the MIAA contest. The junior All-American went 20-for-28 in the game, a 71.4 percent completion rate, and averaged 22.4 yards per completion in the game.

Huff had touchdown passes 38, 44, 21, 8, and 26 in the game. He nearly had a sixth touchdown pass, which would've tied the UCO single game record, but the receiver was tackled at the 1-yard line. UCO scored on the next play. Huff also only played two snaps in the fourth quarter and both plays were handoffs, including a 2-yard touchdown run for the Bronchos.

The 449-yard performance is the most in a game in the MIAA this season and the second most in Division II this season. It was the third 400-yard game of Huff's two-year career with the Bronchos, most of any player in school history. He had eclipsed 300 yards for the eighth time in his career and broke the school record for most 300-yard passing games in school history.

Central Oklahoma is home again this week with the Bronchos welcoming Northeastern State to Edmond Saturday night for Homecoming. UCO and NSU play for The President's Cup. Central has won the last 10 meetings, holding the trophy in Edmond since 2014.
