UCO Trips Up At Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – A fourth-quarter slump left Central Oklahoma in a spot they couldn't recover from and the Bronchos walked away with an 80-59 defeat at Northeastern State.

Peyton Walker hit the first of her two 3-pointers with 2:38 to play in the third quarter to make it 52-51, and NSU added a free-throw to push it 52-50 heading to the final 10 minutes. The Bronchos trailed by two points, but NSU outscored Central 28-9 in the final frame. A 7-2 start spurred the strong finish for the host Riverhawks, and a 12-0 run in the final four minutes spelled the end.

UCO dipped to 4-10 on the season with the loss and 3-2 in the MIAA, ending a three-game win streak in league play.

Korie Allensworth led the Bronchos with 19 points and Jordyn Turner added 12 to go with a team-high seven rebounds.

Walker, a freshman from Kingfisher, scored a season-high six points on 2-for-4 from behind the arc. The point guard added three assists, a steal, and a rebound.
