UCO Announces 2024 Football Schedule

Bronchos Hosting Six Games At Chad Richison Stadium This Fall

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma announced its 2024 football schedule Wednesday with the Bronchos kicking off the new season this fall with a new look.

UCO will host Langston (NAIA) in a Week 1 non-conference game at Chad Richison Stadium. It will mark the first meeting between the two schools since October 1999. The Bronchos and the Lions met 38 times from 1956-99, with UCO owning a 32-5-1 advantage in the series.

Langston will travel 27 miles south to Edmond on Saturday, Sept. 7 for the Week 1 matchup with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Chad Richison Stadium.

Central Oklahoma will play home games in both Week 1 & 2 this fall. After hosting Langston in the opener, Central Oklahoma will host Central Missouri Saturday, Sept. 14 at Chad Richison Stadium. The Bronchos will make their first road trip of the year Sept. 21 at Nebraska Kearney.

UCO is back home in Week 4, hosting Fort Hays State on Sept. 28, before traveling to take on Missouri Southern Oct. 5 in Joplin.

The Bronchos host Northwest Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 12 before making the trip to Tahlequah for the President's Cup game Oct. 19 at NSU.

New in 2024, with the addition of Week Zero in Division II football, and the departure of Lincoln from the league's membership, the MIAA has opened its schedule to allow for non-conference games. Northeastern State has also made the decision to leave the MIAA as a football-member and that matchup will not be counted as an MIAA contest when the two meet in Tahlequah.

UCO has begun plans for non-conference football games in 2025 and 2026 and will be announced later.

The Bronchos are home again Oct. 26 as UCO hosts Pittsburg State. Central Oklahoma will then play back-to-back road games in Week 9 & 10, visiting Missouri Western on Nov. 2 in St. Joseph, Mo., and Washburn on Nov. 9 in Topeka, Kansas.

Central Oklahoma wraps up the 2024 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 16 against Emporia State in Edmond at Chad Richison Stadium.

The Bronchos, under the direction of third-year head football coach Adam Dorrel, are looking to bounce back after a 5-6 season in 2023. Dorrel posted a 6-5 record in his first season in 2022. The Bronchos are 11-11 in two seasons with Dorrel, including a 9-2 mark in Edmond.

UCO is hosting its annual Spring Game Friday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at Chad Richison Stadium. Season ticket renewals are also underway, with new sales beginning June 3.
