Bronchos Fall To SWOSU

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma was outpaced early and never recovered in an 81-56 loss to Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday night at Hamilton Field House.
 
The Bronchos fell to 1-6 on the season with the loss and wrapped up a busy week of three games in five days 1-2. UCO will travel to No. 1 Texas Woman's on Wednesday next week.
 
Central Oklahoma opened the game with a Talia Pogi jump shot, but after Southwestern Oklahoma State hit a 3-pointer on the next possession to take a 3-2 lead, UCO never led again.
 
SWOSU outscored UCO 24-11 in the opening quarter, and held a 49-24 lead at halftime.
 
Central Oklahoma shot just 31.1 percent from the floor, hitting 19 of 61 total shots. UCO was 6-for-27 from behind the arc and 7-for-10 at the free-throw line.
 
LaKysia Johnson led the Bronchos with 13 points while Pogi scored 11. Korie Allensworth added eight points, Karly Wadsworth scored seven, and Gracee Miller added six.
 
Jordyn Turner, Alexis Lewis, and Jaycee Crawford all scored two points in the loss.
 
Central Oklahoma hits the road for Wednesday's non-conference matchup with Texas Woman's. The Bronchos return home to open MIAA play with No. 13 Pittsburg State on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and Missouri Southern on Sunday, Dec. 8.
