Bronchos Downed In Searcy

Central Oklahoma Falls 84-56 At Harding In Non-Conference Matchup

SEARCY, Ark. – Central Oklahoma let a second quarter rally get away from them Thursday afternoon as Harding ran away with an 84-56 non-conference victory.
 
UCO led 15-14 near the end of the first quarter before a Harding layup in the final seconds gave the hosts a 16-15 lead the first break. Then a 29-9 blitz in the second quarter put the Bisons in control of the game.
 
Central Oklahoma fell to 1-5 on the season with the loss. The Bronchos return to action Saturday night in Edmond. Playing just its second home game of the season, UCO hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State Saturday at 6 p.m. at Hamilton Field House.
 
Jordyn Turner led Central Oklahoma with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The senior forward posted her second double-double of the season and Thursday was her third straight game with at least a dozen rebounds.
 
UCO had eight other score, with Gracee Miller and LaKysia Johnson each totaling seven points. Talia Pogi and Alexis Lewis each had six points. Korie Allensworth added five and Karly Wadsworth four. Freshmen Peyton Walker and Parker Simonsen each scored two points.
 
Central Oklahoma shot 34.5 percent from the floor, making 19 of 55 total shots on the day. The Bronchos went just 1-for-13 from behind the arc, a 7.7 percent rate. Wadsworth hit the only triple of the day for the Bronchos. UCO also went 17-for-22 from the free-throw line, a 77.3 percent mark.
