Bronchos Rally In Second, Third Quarters, But Let Non-Conference Game Slip Away

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Central Oklahoma's big rallies in the second and third quarter weren't enough Wednesday as the Bronchos dropped an 82-71 non-conference road game at Drury.

The Bronchos finished the first half on a 10-0 run and started the second half with a 9-2 advantage, but it was Drury overpowering UCO to the win.

"We played well for parts of the game, but not all four quarters," UCO women's basketball coach Emma Andrews said. "If we can get to that level for all four quarters, we'll be in a position to win the games, but we didn't today."

UCO trailed 12-0 in the game before getting on the board. Drury won the opening frame 24-9. UCO responded with a 24-18 advantage in the second quarter to cut the deficit to nine at halftime, 42-33. Then the big rally again in the third got the lead down to two points, 44-42. Even though UCO won the third quarter too, 16-15, Drury pulled away with a 25-22 final frame to get the win.

Gracee Miller scored a career-high 18 points Wednesday. The sophomore guard from Comanche went 4-for-8 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from behind the 3-point line, and was also 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. Miller added three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

Jordyn Turner also scored in double figures, posting 14 points to go with nine rebounds. Turner went 6-for-9 from the floor and 2-for-3 from the free-throw line. LaKysia Johnson also had 11 points off the bench to with five rebounds. Johnson went 5-for-8 from the floor.
