Central Oklahoma Drops Road Match In Missouri

Bronchos Fall 3-0 At No. 25 Central Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma dropped the first of its two road games this weekend Friday night with a 3-0 setback at No. 25 Central Missouri.

UCO is now 6-5-2 on the season with a 3-2-2 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos play at Missouri Southern on Sunday afternoon to wrap up the brief road trip.

"They got those first two goals so quick back to back it put us in a bad spot and we never recovered," UCO head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "We had some chances that we really needed to convert, but we couldn't get it done today."

Central Oklahoma outshot Central Missouri 17-12 and held an 8-7 advantage in shots on goal. But it was the host Jennies that found the back of the net.

UCM scored in the 21st minute and 22nd minute to change the tune in what was a tightly contested game to start. The hosts added a second-half goal in the 62nd minute.

Avery Bass played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Bronchos and the junior keeper made four saves to the seven shots on goal she faced.

Madison Linavong took a team-high four shots, while Caleah Carter and Rebekah George both took three shots. Emma Nicholas, Rebecca Tweedy, and Harmony Turner all took one shot each.

Central Oklahoma will wrap up the weekend in Joplin on Sunday. The Bronchos are home next weekend for two more league matches. UCO hosts Northeastern State Friday night before taking on Rogers State next Sunday in what will be Senior Day for the Bronchos.
