Bronchos Receiving Votes In Preseason Poll

WACO, Texas – Central Oklahoma is receiving votes in the 2023 American Football Coaches Association Preseason Top 25, it was announced Monday.

UCO is one of 38 teams to receive votes outside of the top 25. The Bronchos kickoff the new season August 31 against Nebraska Kearney, which is also listed among those receiving votes.

A total of six MIAA schools are listed. Defending league champion Pittsburg State is ranked No. 4 in the country, Northwest Missouri is No. 6, and Emporia State is No. 19 in the poll. Washburn (nine points), UCO (three) and UNK (one) are all receiving votes.

UCO opens with Kearney on August 31 and will visit Emporia State in Week 4. The Bronchos visit Northwest Missouri in Week 6 and Central hosts Washburn in the final home game of the season in Week 10. UCO closes out the 2023 regular season Nov. 11 at Pittsburg State.
