Central Oklahoma Ranked Fourth In Latest Wrestling Poll

Bronchos Have Five Individuals Ranked In NWCA's Latest Poll

MANHEIM, Pa. – Central Oklahoma dropped one spot in the NWCA Top 25 announced Monday, with the Bronchos now ranked fourth in the country.

Lander and West Liberty maintained the top two spots with UIndy jumping from seventh to third. The Bronchos are fourth in front of St. Cloud State, which was bumped from fourth to fifth.
 
The rankings, which use a tournament poll methodology, list five Bronchos in the individual national rankings by weight class. Dylan Lucas is third at 141, Gabe Johnson is second at 149, Anthony DesVigne is sixth at 184, Dalton Abney is first at 197, and Braden Morgan is 12th at heavyweight.
 
The top three teams in the country have seven individuals each in the national rankings.
 
Lucas is 9-1 this season at 141 pounds for the Bronchos. The returning All-American won the Drury Open this past weekend with a fall, tech. fall, major decision, and two more decisions to claim the title.
 
Johnson didn't wrestle in Springfield this weekend, but the returning All-American is 4-2 this season. He has two tech. falls and two majors.
 
DesVigne won the 184-pound title at Drury and is now 7-1 this season. Also a returning All-American, DesVigne had two technical falls, a fall, and a decision to win the title.
 
Abney, who is the two-time defending national champion at 197 pounds, has yet to make his season debut for the Bronchos. Morgan is 1-0 at heavyweight this season.
 
Central Oklahoma will make its home debut this Sunday in an MIAA dual against Newman. The dual is also the 300th dual in the history of Hamilton Field House. Celebrations are planned around the event. The dual starts at 2 p.m.
