Wells had two falls, a 17-2 technical fall and wild 15-13 second-round victory on his way to the finals before losing the tough finals decision.

Lucas allowed just four points on the day while going 5-0 in taking the title, opening with three straight bonus wins before closing with a pair of decisions.

The junior All-American started with a 17-2 technical fall, followed with a first-period pin and then had an 11-1 major decision. Lucas notched a 4-0 shutout in the semifinals, then cruised past Jack Lage of Central Missouri 7-1 in the title bout.
