"We found a way tonight when I don't think we shot the ball very well," UCO head women's basketball coach Guy Hardaker said. "But we played really good defense and we did a good job of creating chances."

Central Oklahoma improved to 9-5 overall with the win and is now 5-3 in the MIAA. The Bronchos wrap up a three-game homestand against Rogers State on Saturday.

Central did use a strong defensive effort to limit Northeastern to just nine points in each of the first two quarters.

The Bronchos forced 22 turnovers Thursday night and half of those came on UCO steals. Brooke Rayner, who leads the team in steals and is among the MIAA leaders in that category, had a season-high four swipes Thursday. Six Bronchos had a steal and three of them had more than one.

She's had eight games this season with a 100 percent mark from the free-throw line and is shooting 86.4 percent (70-for-81) from the line this season. She also had eight rebounds and three blocked shots to go with one assist.

Llanusa scored 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting. She went 2-for-3 from behind the 3-point line and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Llanusa added six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

That trio was a combined 18-for-34 overall Thursday night.
