Football Announces Completion of New Coaching Staff

Adam Dorrel Names Five New Full-Time Assistants

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma hired a new football coach last month and the program announced Monday the rest of the coaching staff.

Adam Dorrel was hired Dec. 8 to lead the Bronchos. He rounded out his staff with the addition of five new full-time coaches.

"We're excited to get this thing going," Dorrel said. "Each of these guys have different qualities that I think will work really well together. It's a great group. We're already hitting the ground running on recruiting and planning for signing day next month. And then it's time for spring practice. We're just excited and ready to go."

Josh Lamberson has been tabbed as UCO's new offensive coordinator. He will coach the quarterbacks in addition to play-calling duties. James Curlee will head up wide receivers as well as special teams. And Dimitri Donald will coach tight ends and fullbacks. Dorrel will also coach the offensive line himself.

Brandon Lechtenberg has been named UCO's new defensive coordinator. He will also coach the linebacker group in addition to play-calling duties. Adam McGuire will head up the defensive backs.

Central defensive line coach Rashad Sanders is the only staffer carried over from last season.

Central Oklahoma is scheduled to open the 2022 season in September. The Bronchos will play on the road in Week 1 at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo. UCO will play its first home game of the new year in Week 2 against Emporia State.
