MIAA Recognizes UCO Student-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced Wednesday its 2019-20 Winter Sports Academic Awards and six University of Central Oklahoma wrestling student-athletes made the league's honor roll.

Dalton Abney, Christian Arriola, Anthony DesVigne, Brik Filippo, Dayton Garrett, and Noah McQuigg were all recognized for having a 3.0 grade point average or higher in the classroom this year.

The MIAA Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA and above who have also completed at least two semesters at their respective institutions. UCO student-athletes that have a 3.0 but have not completed two semesters at Central will be recognized at the end of the 2019-20 academic year.

Central Oklahoma's wrestling team went 12-2 this season, won the MIAA regular season title, and sent six individuals to the national tournament – including Abney and Filippo – before the championship was canceled.
