Match Recap: Women's Tennis | | Chris Brannick

No. 9 Bronchos Blank No. 12 ASU

OKLAHOMA CITY – The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team put together a dismantling effort against Angelo State, with the ninth-ranked Bronchos beating the 12th-ranked Rams 4-0 at Lifetime Fitness Tennis Center. The Bronchos improved to 2-0 with the win.
 
Central got off to a good start, taking 2 of 3 doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
 
Adel-Byanu Abidullina and Isabella Dunlap earned a big, 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over the fourth-rated nationally duo from ASU. Seventh-ranked Paola Landin and Nikki Boyar won 6-3 at No. 2 doubles. Lotte Lesscher Y Post and Mariona Franco did not finish at No. 3 doubles.
 
After the Bronchos took a 1-0 lead and moved to singles play, it wasn't much longer before the Bronchos ended the match.
 
Abidullina took the first singles point, winning 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1. Landin then won at No. 3, 6-0, 7-5. Boyar would clinch the match with a win at No. 5, taking down her opponent 7-6, 6-1.
 
Central Oklahoma will play a pair of matches next week, hosting Midwestern State and Cowely County.
