Bronchos 18th, 12th In Mat Polls

FAYETTE, Iowa (Feb. 4) -- Central Oklahoma stayed at No. 18 in the tournament rankings while debuting at No. 12 in the first dual poll put out by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches' Association Monday.

The Bronchos collected 22 points behind two ranked individuals in the tournament poll and had 80 points in the dual rankings.  St. Cloud State topped both polls, followed by Nebraska-Kearney in the tournament one and Notre Dame (Ohio) in the dual one.

Heath Gray stayed No. 2 at 184 pounds, while Greg Wilson came in eighth at heavyweight.

Gray has been a dominating force all season for Central and is currently 27-1 with 17 bonus-point wins (eight major decisions, six technical falls, three falls).  The sophomore standout is riding a 12-match winning streak.

Wilson, a national qualifier for the Bronchos at 197 two years ago before sitting out last season, joined the team at the semester break and is 4-2 with one fall and one technical fall.  Both his losses are to individuals ranked ahead of him.

UCO wraps up the dual portion of its schedule this weekend with Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association matches at No. 9/6 Lindenwood Sunday and Central Missouri Monday.
