Central Oklahoma Cruises Past Western New Mexico

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The University of Central Oklahoma tennis team whipped Western New Mexico 7-0 Sunday, ending its three-match road trip with a win.
 
The Bronchos, ranked No. 11 in the country, are 2-2 on the season.
 
Central Oklahoma won all three doubles matches to claim the early point. Paola Landin and Isabella Dunlap squeaked out a 7-6 win at No. 1. The 11th-ranked doubles team in the country won 7-6. Kirtana Bhat and Adel-Byanu Abidullina (No. 2) and Nikki Boyar and Sarah Van Eeckhoudt (No. 3) both won 6-0 for the Bronchos.
 
It didn't get any harder heading into singles play.
 
Abidullina won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Dunlap won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2, and Landin won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 to make it 4-0 Central Oklahoma.
 
Bhat won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 4 singles and Boyar won 6-1, 6-4 to make it 6-0. Jessica Le also won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 6 singles to give UCO the clean sweep of WNMU.
 
The Bronchos will hit the road again next weekend, playing Angelo State and St. Mary's in Texas. UCO will then play two more on the road the week after that before finally returning to Broncho Courts in mid-March.
