Tanner Cole Named MIAA Athlete of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced Tuesday that University of Central Oklahoma sophomore Tanner Cole is this week's Co-Athlete of the Week.

Cole went 5-0 last week, knocking off a ranked opponent in a dual and then winning the Bob Smith Open at Fort Hays State.

The Edmond, Okla. native and 125-pounder cruised to a 7-1 win over sixth-ranked Montana Moon in UCO's 32-6 dual win over Oklahoma City before taking the Bob Smith Open title. Cole went 4-0 on the tournament, earning a fall and two major decisions beating Oklahoma State's Dallas Wilson 11-7 in the finals.

Cole is 7-2 this season. The Bronchos are getting ready to compete in the Midwest Classic this weekend in Indianapolis.
