EDMOND (Nov. 12) – Two long returns and four short touchdown drives powered Lindenwood to a season-ending 48-14 rout of Central Oklahoma Saturday afternoon at Wantland Stadium.

UCO ran nearly 30 more plays (88-57) than the Lions, but LU took the lead with a 57-yard first-quarter interception return, ran a kickoff back 100 yards in the second half and had four scoring drives of 50 yards or less in winning easily over the injury-plagued Bronchos.

The Lions finished the season 8-3, while UCO ended 2-9.  Both teams will be joining the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association next year after playing as NCAA Division II independents this season.

The Bronchos limited Lindenwood to 21 yards on 14 plays in the opening quarter, but the Lions led 7-0 after the first 15 minutes on Chaz Fulton's 57-yard interception runback.

LU pushed its lead to 21-0 by intermission on a pair of 50-yard TD drives, then made it 28-0 early in the third with a 44-yard scoring march.  UCO got two touchdown passes from Landon Greve to Bryce Davis in the third, but the Lions followed the first of those with Andrew Helmick's 100-yard kickoff return.

Lindenwood polished off the win with two more fourth-quarter scores, the final one coming on a 37-yard drive.

UCO finished with 318 total yards, completing 39-of-66 passes for 270 yards while managing just 48 rushing in 22 tries.  Greve finished 31-of-49 passing for 207 yards and the two TDs to Davis, who tied a single-game school record with 11 catches for 94 yards.

The Lions had runs of 29, 33, 40 and 55 yards in racking up 250 yards rushing in 37 attempts despite 58 yards in losses.  Four quarterbacks combined to hit just 8-of-20 passes for 108 yards, but three of those completions went for touchdowns.

Safety Devoris Dozier led UCO's defense with a career-high 12 tackles, while  Creadell Pennon and Brad Harmon had interceptions for the Bronchos.
