GRANBURY, Texas (April 13) – Central Oklahoma struggled on the final day of the Tarleton State/Coca-Cola Classic here Tuesday, firing a closing 326 to finish in 11th place.

The Bronchos were tied for sixth after three players shot in the 70s during an opening-round 310 Monday, but UCO had just one player break 80 Tuesday in dropping down in the final standings.

Fifth-ranked and tournament host Tarleton State ran away with the team title, shooting a final-round 306 at the par-72 Harbor Lakes Golf Club in finishing with a two-day, 36-hole total of 602.  Grand Canyon was second in the 18-team event at 612, with Northeastern State third at 613.

Emily Leahey led UCO with a closing 79 to tie for 19th in the individual standings after opening with a 76 Monday.  Raelynn Farthing shot 81 and Erica Bensch had an 82, while Maria Jimenez added an 84 and Cassy Knight an 87.

“We had a hard time getting anything going today,” UCO coach Michael Bond said.  “We made too many mistakes and put ourselves in some bad situations that cost us a lot of strokes.”

The Bronchos return to action at the Lone Star Conference Championships next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at the Winstar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla.
