WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Nov. 24) – Central Oklahoma safety Giorgio Durham has been selected as a first-team member of the 2009 Daktronics All-Super Region 4 Football Team, it was announced Tuesday.

Durham was UCO's lone pick on the elite squad, which includes teams from the Lone Star Conference, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and is voted on by the region's sports information directors.  He now joins first-team members of the three other all-region teams from around the country on the ballot that will decide All-America honors.

The 6-foot, 190-pound sophomore from Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City enjoyed a stellar 2009 season that saw him named Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Back of the Year.

Durham led the league with eight interceptions -- which ranks fifth nationally -- while adding 66 tackles (42 solo) and six PBUs.  He picked off two passes against Southwest Baptist and had one interception in six other games while also intercepting a two-point conversion pass that doesn't count in the individual statistics.  Durham had two games with 10-plus tackles.

The Bronchos finished 4-7 in 2009, winning three of their final four games while going against a schedule that included five ranked opponents and seven road games.
