Michael Bond enters his 18th year leading the Central Oklahoma women's golf program and has built the Bronchos into a perennial Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and NCAA Division II contender.

UCO has flourished under Bond’s direction, having finished in the Top 10 176 times, the Top 5 133 times, and winning 32 titles. Bond has been named MIAA Coach of the Year four times in Central's 13 seasons in the league and four of his 32 wins with the Bronchos came in the MIAA Championship.

Michael has coached 21 All-MIAA players – including four who earned MIAA Player of the Year honors – along with 10 All-Region performers and four All-Americans.

Central had seven top-four finishes during Bond’s first year in 2008-09 and was ranked in the national top 20 most of the year en route to making its first appearance in the NCAA Division II regional tournament since 2005.

The Bronchos were in the top-four in six of 10 events in 2009-10.

UCO had seven top-four finishes in 11 tournaments and was ranked in the top 20 all year during the 2010-11 campaign, winning the UCO/Mahogany Classic in the fall.

The Bronchos also had their best-ever round with a one-under-par 287 during a runner-up showing in the Dallas Baptist Classic and finished a close fourth in the NCAA Division II West Regional to just miss out on their first-ever national tournament berth.

Bond and the Bronchos put together a fabulous year in 2011-12 despite showcasing a lineup consisting of two freshmen and two sophomores.  UCO had nine top-four finishes in 12 tournaments, including a string of six straight in the spring, and tied for second in the Super Region Four Tournament to qualify for nationals.

The Bronchos finished eighth at the national meet in their first-ever appearance, with Chaney Uhles tying for fifth in the individual race en route to earning second-team All-America honors.

UCO came back with an equally as impressive year in 2012-13, placing in the top four in eight of 12 events and winning three straight titles during the spring.  Michael was named MIAA and Central Region Coach of the Year after leading the Bronchos to both those team titles en route to a 10th-place national finish.

Bond guided UCO to a sensational year in 2013-14 as the Bronchos had top-four finishes in all 12 tournaments with six championships.  Central captured the MIAA and Central Regional titles for the second straight year -- with Michael earning MIAA and regional Coach of the Year honors once again -- and had its highest finish in the national tournament with a sixth-place showing.

The Bronchos put together their best-ever year in 2014-15 as Bond took conference and regional Coach of the Year accolades for the third consecutive time.  UCO won nine of 13 tournaments, was runner-up by one shot in two others and captured a third straight MIAA title.

Bond's crew earned a fourth straight trip to the Division II national tournament with a third-place regional finish and came in seventh nationally as freshman Marla Souvannasing was a second-team All-America selection.

The Bronchos had top-four showings in nine of 12 tournaments in 2015-16 with one title, were runners-up in the league and just missed out on a fifth consecutive national tournament trip with a fifth-place regional finish.

UCO enjoyed another strong season in 2016-17 despite losing one of its top starters to illness early in the spring campaign, winning two tournaments and finishing in the top-four in three others.  The Bronchos were third in the conference meet and fifth at Central Regional, with freshman Anna Pool making the national tournament as an individual qualifier.

Bond led Central to two tournament twins and five other top-four finishes in 2017-18.  The Bronchos came in third in the MIAA Tournament and were seventh in the Central Region.

In 2018-19, UCO finished in the top four seven times, including a trio of third-place finishes. UCO finished third in the MIAA Tournament and sixth in the NCAA Regional Tournament.

In 2019-20, Central finished in the top eight in all seven tournaments before the season was cut short to a global health emergency. UCO finished in the top four in six of seven tournaments and won the UCO Classic during the fall schedule. The Bronchos also tied for first in the Diffee Ford Lincoln Classic in the spring before losing a playoff.

Central had another impressive run during the 2020-21 season, which didn't start until February due to the pandemic. But the Bronchos showed no signs of rust, finishing in the top five in each of the first eight tournaments of the season. UCO finished in the top four in six of those and won three tournaments, including the 2021 MIAA Championship. UCO also won the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invite at KickingBird in Edmond and the Central Regional Preview at St. Joseph Country Club in Missouri. UCO made the NCAA Tournament, finishing eighth at regionals.

UCO had two wins in 2021-22, with nine top 5 performances, including at the MIAA Championships and the Regional Championships. The Bronchos opened the spring semester with back-to-back wins, taking the Tunica Cup and the Diffee-Ford Lincoln titles.

In 2022-23, Central Oklahoma finished in the Top 10 in 10 tournaments, placing in the Top 5 in three. The Bronchos finished seventh at the Regional Championships after qualifying for the postseason tournament for the 12th consecutive season under Bond's direction.

Central Oklahoma finished inside the Top 10 in nine tournaments during the 2023-24 season, including five in the top five. UCO finished seventh at the MIAA Women's Golf Championships and earned a trip to the NCAA Regional Championships for a 12th straight season.

UCO earned six Top 10 finishes in 2024-25, including a fourth place finish at the MIAA Women's Golf Championships and an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional.

Bond came to Edmond after spending four years as the men’s and women’s coach at Southwestern Oklahoma.  He directed the men’s team to an NCAA Division II top-25 ranking and regional tournament berth in 2008.

A Broken Bow native, Bond received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from SWOSU. He took over as Southwestern’s sports information director in 2002 and served in that capacity until taking over the golf coaching duties in 2004.

Bond also served as an adjunct teacher at SWOSU in sports information management and golf management.

Bond is married (Amy) and has two daughters (Maddilyn and Annalise).
