Chris Brannick serves as the University of Central Oklahoma's Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.

Brannick was hired August 1, 2016 and is in his 10th year
 keeping local, state and national media informed about UCO’s athletic department as well as handling the school’s athletic website, bronchosports.com. Brannick oversees the website, as well as content creation for Central's social media channels. He also works on the operation of UCO's broadcasting on The MIAA Network, where more than 150 events are shown each year. 

Brannick serves on the MIAA's Basketball Championships Committee, and is an active member of the College Sports Communicators. He also serves as the Central Regional representative for softball for the D2CAA, and as one Central Region representative for the National College Baseball Writers Association. On campus, Brannick serves on the UCO Staff Senate.

Chris came to UCO after three years as a sports reporter for The Oklahoman.


A native of Utica, N.Y. who grew up in Sallisaw, Okla., Brannick is a Central graduate. He received his bachelor’s degree in mass communications in 2013 with a journalism major and creative studies minor. Brannick also holds his master's degree in Strategic Communications from Central Oklahoma.


Brannick served as sports editor of UCO’s student newspaper (The Vista) and also worked as a sports anchor on the school’s student-run broadcast news program (UCentral News).


He won first- and second-place in sports reporting at the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Oklahoma in 2013 and won the UCO Mass Comm Professional Media award the same year. He also won first place at the Oklahoma Broadcasting Association's annual awards for his work on The Huddle, a 30-minute weekly sports recapping UCO football and local high school football action.


Brannick began working at The Oklahoman immediately after graduation.


Chris is married (Cori) and has one daughter (Elle).
