Sophomore lightweight who helped spark UCO to the national championship last year with a surprise runner-up finish . . . Will again be the team’s top 125-pounder and is ready to ride last year’s success to even bigger heights this season . . . Aggressive wrestler who is always on the attack and looking to score points . . . Experience gained last year will pay big dividends in 2007-08 and this talented youngster is ready to be a major force at the top of the lineup as a prime national championship contender.

2006-07: Started the season as UCO’s starter before giving way to returning All-American Shane Caruthers only to resurface as the main man in late January . . . Went on to a 19-10 campaign and made it all the way to the national finals in earning All-America honors . . . Had eight bonus-point wins with five major decisions and three falls . . . Was runner-up at the Fort Hays State Open and ended the regular season with three straight wins, including back-to-back 12-3 and 16-2 major decisions . . . Was the No. 2 seed at the Midwest Regional and opened with a 14-1 rout before falling in the semifinals . . . Came back with a consolation semifinal fall before losing in next match to finish fourth . . . Fueled UCO’s title run at the national tournament with three straight upsets to advance to the finals . . . Gave UCO early momentum with a third-period fall in the first round over No. 8-ranked Payne Lint of Mercyhurst and followed with a 5-1 win over No. 4 Tyler Mumbulo of Upper Iowa . . . Avenged a 4-3 regular-season loss to Adams State’s No. 2 Arsenia Barksdale in the semifinals with a dominating 10-2 major decision, then dropped a tough 5-2 decision to top-rated Trevor Charboneau of Nebraska-Kearney in the finals.

High School: Had a fabulous run at MacArthur High School in Lawton, placing in the Class 4A state tournament four times and winning two titles . . . High school All-American after placing fifth at the high school national tournament . . . Also lettered in baseball.

Personal: A general studies major . . . Enjoys wakeboarding and hunting among his hobbies . . . Birthdate is March 9, 1988.
