Biography

Senior veteran and former All-American looking to return to the mat after missing most of last season to injury . . . Was off to a great start last year before being sidelined and is eager to return to the lineup at 133, where this proven winner would be a top All-America contender . . . Fierce competitor and an aggressive grappler who always pushes the action on the mat . . . Is determined to finish his career in style and is capable of racking up plenty of points for the Bronchos.

2011-12:  Missed the first month of the season with injury and then went out again for good after just two weeks of action . . . Compiled a 9-2 record with seven bonus-point wins during that short stint, scoring a fall in his only dual and dominating the field in winning the Newman Invitational . . . Outscored four opponents 61-8 in that tournament with two technical falls and two major decisions . . . Earned Division II All-Academic honors.


2010-11:  Was UCO's top 133-pounder from the outset and led the team in matches (52), wins (36), major decisions (eight) and takedowns (116) . .  Finished 36-16 with 15 bonus-point wins and placed in six tournaments, finishing second in the region and seventh nationally . . . Opened the Super Regional Two Tournament with a technical fall and major decision in making the finals before having a 17-match winning streak snapped there with a 7-5 loss while suffering a shoulder injury that would require surgery . . . Dropped a tough 6-4 decision in first round at nationals before rebounding with 9-1 and 20-3 routs . . . Fell 5-4 in the consolation quarterfinals and then ended the tournament with a 3-1 sudden-victory triumph in the seventh-place match . . . Won tournament titles at the Newman Invitational and Missouri Valley Open while also taking fourth at the Oklahoma City Open and fifth at the Central Missouri Open . . . Wrestled in two duals at 141, winning a third-period fall and 11-6 decision . . . Was named to the Division II All-Academic Team.

2009-10:  Put together a 24-13 record with six bonus-point wins . . . Started most of the year at 133 until being beaten out of the lineup late in the season by Scott Berens, who went on to earn All-America honors . . . Won four matches en route to a runner-up showing at the Fort Hays State Open while also coming in fifth at the Missouri Valley Open and sixth at the Central Missouri Open . . . Went 10-3 in duals.

2008-09:  Had an 8-5 record in three open tournaments while sitting out a redshirt year . . . Went 4-1 and placed third in the freshman-sophomore division of the Missouri Open.

High School:  Captured four Class 5A state championships at Arkansas City (Kan.) High School, compiling a 120-20 career record . . . All-State selection and also competed on the Kansas national dual team.

Personal:  Engineering physics major and multiple member of the UCO Dean’s Honor Roll . . . Enjoys studying as a hobby . . . Lists “Cinderella Man” as his top sports movie . . . Birthdate is July 24, 1990.
