Biography

Senior standout and returning All-American ready to vie for the national championship in 2012-13 . . . Has been UCO's main 184-pounder most of his career and is a three-time national qualifier at the weight, having piled up 76 wins . . . Confidence gained from breaking through to earn All-America honors last season should help boost this veteran to an even higher level this year . . . Excels on his feet and is a tough, physical wrestler poised for a banner final season.

2011-12:  Enjoyed a stellar season in putting together 27-9 record with five bonus-point wins and a team-high 75 takedowns en route to earning All-America honors with a fourth-place national finish . . . Placed in four regular season tournaments, topped by a title-winning effort in the Oklahoma City Open . . . Was runner-up in the Fort Hays State Open and Newman Invitational and took fifth in the elite bracket of the Loper Open . . . Earned national tournament berth with runner-up finish in the Super Regional Two Tournament, winning 3-2 and 6-4 decisions to make the finals before falling 1-0 to Ouachita Baptist's Dallas Smith . . . Claimed 8-1 and 7-6 wins in his first two matches at nationals to make the semifinals, but lost 5-2 there to drop into the consolations . . . Rebounded with 7-2 win over Smith to avenge three earlier losses before losing 4-2 in the consolation finals . . . Had 17 matches decided by one point or in overtime, going 10-7 in those


2010-11:  Started all season at 184 and finished 32-15 with 13 bonus-point wins, earning seven major decisions, three falls and three technical falls . . . Placed in six tournaments, including a runner-up showing at the Super Regional Two Tournament to earn national tournament berth . . . Opened the regional with a pair of two-point wins to make the finals before dropping a tough 2-1 decision there to eventual national champion Aaron Denson of Nebraska-Omaha . . . Went 1-2 at nationals, losing to a pair of All-Americans . . . Was just 7-7 at one point before going 25-8 the rest of the way  . . .  Earned title at the Newman Invitational and also placed at the Missouri Valley Open (third), Oklahoma City Open (fourth) and Central Missouri Open (sixth) . . . Racked up 110 takedowns, second-best on the team.

2009-10:  Saw action at 165, 174 and 184 in putting together a 17-13 record with 10 bonus-point wins, including eight falls . . . Went 3-2 at 165 in the season-opening Oklahoma City Open and was 3-3 at 174 before bumping up to 184 to take over a starting role in the second semester . . . Finished 11-8 with four falls at that weight, earning national tournament appearance with fourth-place finish in the regional . . . Was eliminated with two straight losses at nationals.
 
High School:  Four-time state placer at small-school powerhouse Marlow High School, amassing a 141-20 career record . . . Four-time All-Area selection and won back-to-back state championships his final two seasons, earning All-State accolades as a senior.

Personal:  Physical education major looking to become a wrestling coach . . . Father (Bill) played football at Southeastern Oklahoma . . . Enjoys fishing in his spare time . . . Lists the Oklahoma City Thunder as his top sports team . . . Birthdate is Aug. 3, 1990.
