Biography

Two-year starter returning to the mat after missing the second part of last season to injury ... Dynamic wrestler with ability to score plenty of points and already has 69 career wins to his credit ... Started at 174 pounds the last two years and is eager to get back in the lineup ... Has worked hard at rehabbing from knee surgery and is a legitimate All-America threat if healthy.

2017-18:  Had a 22-7 record with 12 bonus-point wins when suffered season-ending injury in dual against Western Colorado in late January ... Finished third in the Fort Hays State Open, going 5-1 in that event with four first-period falls, including one in just 11 seconds ... Was riding 10-match winning streak when went down with injury and had to default.

2016-17:  Had the most matches (47) and wins (38) on the team, finishing 38-9 with an impressive 29 bonus-point wins . . . Also recorded team-high 13 major decisions -- tied for the fifth-best season in school history -- to go along with 10 falls and six technical falls . . . Placed in seven tournaments, winning titles at the Oklahoma City Open, Jet Invitational and MIAA Championships . . . Was runner-up in the Oklahoma Open, third in the Lindenwood Open, fourth in the Fort Hays State Open and sixth in the NCAA Division II West Regional . . . Had a pair of nine-match winning streaks, claiming eight straight bonus wins during one of those . . . Racked up team-best 110 takedowns on the season.

2015-16: Sat out redshirt season . . . Competed unattached at the Roger Denker Open, going 3-2 with one fall and one major decision.

High School:  Five-time state finalist at Rio Rancho High School and finished with a 165-27 career record . . . Runner-up as an eighth grader and freshman before winning three straight titles . . . Won prestigious Reno Tournament of Champions title during senior campaign and was runner-up in the High School National Tournament in the summer of 2014 . . . Also earned All-State honors in football after leading Rams to state championship as a senior.

Personal:  Business major . . . Father (Michael) was a four-time Division II All-American who ended his career at UCO, placing fourth in 2002 to help the Bronchos claim the national title . . . Lists the Pittsburgh Steelers as his top team . . . Birthdate is Dec. 21, 1996.
