Biography

Lone senior on the team and a three-time national qualifier looking to end his career with a flourish . . . Is set to be the top 197-pounder once again and will definitely contend for All-America honors . . . Strong, physical grappler with great quickness who has the ability to dominate . . . Is in his sixth year with the Bronchos, having been granted an extra season of eligibility by the NCAA after redshirting in 2006-07 and then missing the 2008-09 campaign to injury . . . Undisputed team leader who has wrestled all 134 matches of his career at 197, owning a 91-43 record . . . Needs four more wins to break into the school's top-25 all-time list and should move well up that chart before he's done.

2010-11:  Enjoyed a stellar junior season, finishing 29-11 with 11 bonus-point wins . . . Captured tournament titles at the Newman Invitational and Missouri Valley Open while finishing second at the Central Missouri Open and third at the Fort Hays State Open . . . Suffered quarterfinal upset at the Super Regional II Tournament, but came back with three easy wins -- two by technical fall -- in making the consolation finals before losing in sudden victory there . . . Lost a 3-1 sudden-victory decision to eventual runner-up Mitch Knapp of West Liberty in the first round at nationals and was eliminated with another close loss.

2010-11:  Put together a 28-14 record with 10 bonus-point wins, earning a national tournament berth with a runner-up finish in the regional . . . Had a major decision and 2-1 tiebreaker victory to make the regional finals before losing a 2-0 decision in the championship match . . . Lost a 5-2 overtime tiebreaker in the first round of the national tournament before bouncing back with a 9-7 win over defending national champion Kyle Sands of Adams State, but was eliminated in the next round . . . Reeled off 13 straight wins late in the season, claiming the title at the Missouri Valley Open during that stretch . . . Also finished runner-up at the Oklahoma City Open and was fourth at the Central Missouri Open.

2008-09:  Was 5-3 while wrestling in the first two duals and the Central Missouri Open, suffering a season-ending knee injury in that one-day tournament.

2007-08:  Started at  197  all year, finishing 29-15 with 11 bonus-point wins . . . Finished fourth at the Missouri Open and qualified for the national tournament with a runner-up finish at the Midwest Regional . . . Opened the regional meet with back-to-back major decisions before losing in the finals . . . Was eliminated at the national tournament with close losses in his first two matches . . . Won key decisions in helping lead UCO to come-from-behind dual wins over Central Missouri and McKendree and his 2-1 win against North Dakota State clinched that dual victory.

2006-07:  Saw action in four open tournaments while redshirting, going 12-7 . . . Was runner-up at the Fort Hays State Open, placed fourth in the freshman-sophomore division of the Missouri Open and was fifth at the Central Missouri Open.

High School:  Two-sport standout at Northwest High School in Wichita, Kan. . . . Four-time state qualifier and three-time state placer on the mat, capping his career with a state title as a senior in finishing with a 144-18 record . . . Also a two-time All-City pick in football.

Personal:  A biology major looking to become a doctor . . . Enjoys hunting and golf among his hobbies . . . Names the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite sports team . . . Birthdate is July 29, 1988.
