Biography

Returning national qualifier and prime All-America contender ready to fill starting slot at 157 pounds again this season . . . Tough, hard-nosed grappler with physical style who will be a mainstay in the middle of the lineup . . . Spent two years at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M before coming to UCO.

2016-17:  Put together a 34-12 campaign with 15 bonus-point wins while starting all season at 157 . . . Scored six falls to go along with five technical falls and four major decisions . . . Placed in four tournaments, winning the season-opening Oklahoma City Open . . . Came in third at both the Oklahoma Open and MIAA Championships while qualifying for NCAA Division II national tournament with runner-up showing at the West Regional . . . Went 1-2 at the national meet while losing to a pair of eventual All-Americans, including the national champion . . . Put together a 12-match winning streak late in the season . . . Wrestled 16 matches decided by two points or less, going 13-3 in those contests.

2015-16:  Went 3-2 while competing unattached at 157 in the Oklahoma City Open during redshirt season.


JUCO:  Two-year starter at NEO, finishing with a 48-22 career record . . . Started at 149 as a freshman in helping the Norse capture the national championship and was national qualifier at 165 the next season after winning a regional title . . . Earned NJCAA Academic All-America honors.

High School:  Three-sport star at Guthrie High School, garnering All-State recognition in baseball and wrestling as a senior . . . Went 133-12 on the mat as a four-time state placer, going 34-1 in capturing championship as a sophomore while also placing second, third and third . . . Was an ESPN RISE Underclass All-American in baseball as a sophomore . . . Led football team to a state championship in receiving Oklahoman Big All-City accolades.

Personal:  Education major looking to become a teacher and coach . . . Enjoys fishing and hunting as hobbies . . . Names Johnny Cash as his favorite musician . . . Birthdate is July 4, 1994.
