Biography

Junior veteran with loads of starting experience who is more than capable of pushing for All-America honors at heavyweight if not for presence of returning national champion Shawn Streck … Will fill starting role in first semester while Streck sits out and will be solid anchor at end of lineup … Showcases great quickness and strength and is at his best when in control on the mat … Not as big as most heavyweights, but knows how to win … Has 32-13 career record with 17 bonus-point wins … In his fifth year with the Bronchos, redshirting in 2019-20 and then keeping year of eligibility when the NCAA didn’t count shortened 2020-21 season.

2022-23: Wrestled in two open tournaments and six duals, finishing 14-1 with six bonus victories … Captured title at Dan Harris Open and was co-third in Drury Open with teammate Chrisitan Arriola … Scored two falls and technical fall in 6-0 dual record.

2021-22: Started entire first semester, finishing 14-8 with nine bonus wins … Was co-champion of season-opening Dan Harris Open with teammate Judson Rowland … Finished third in freshman-sophomore division of Lindenwood Open, losing only 2-1 decision … Recorded five technical falls, outscoring opponents a staggering 82-0 in those matches.

2020-21: Filled starting berth from the outset and finished 4-4 with two major decisions … Finished fourth in Regional IV Tournament … Dropped tough 3-2 decision in first round, then rebounded with 6-1 and 12-3 victories before falling in consolation finals.

2019-20: Went 7-2 with five bonus-point wins in two open tournaments at 197 pounds during redshirt year … Placed third at both the Jet and Golden Norse opens … Bounced back from first-round loss at Jet with four straight wins to take third.

High School: Prep star at El Dorado (Kan.) High School … Two-time state champion and a high school All-American who was ranked as high as seventh in the nation last year by FloWrestling … Went 44-1 in taking state title at 195 pounds as a junior, then had 33-2 record in winning at 220 in 2019 … Also a football letterman.
