Biography

Talented sophomore poised to make a big impact this season at either 141 or 149 . . . Redshirted last year after starting part of his freshman season and has shown the ability to be a major contributor . . . Aggressive grappler with unique style who is constantly looking to push the action and score points . . . Will definitely vie for a starting berth at whatever weight he's at and is capable of contending for All-America honors.
2011-12:  Had a dominating season while redshirting, going 17-3 with 10 bonus-point wins in four open tournaments at 149 . . . Won the amateur bracket at the Loper Open, going 5-0 with two major decisions, a fall and technical fall . . . Also captured title at the Missouri Valley Open with five straight wins, including two falls and two major decisions . . . Took third in the Fort Hays State Open, with the lone loss there a 5-3 setback to eventual national champion Raufeon Stots of Nebraska-Kearney . . . Won 15 of his last 16 matches.

2010-11:  Went 13-9 with six falls while competing in four tournaments and two duals during the first semester . . . Placed third in the Jet Invitational and fifth at the Central Missouri Open . . . Last eight matches were decided by fall, winning five and losing three . . . Four of his six falls came in the first period, including two in the opening minute.

High School:  Four-time Class 4A state finalist and a three-time champion at Catoosa High School.

Personal:  Industrial safety major . . . Birthdate is April 19, 1992.
