Biography

Senior pitcher returning to action after missing last season to injury … Has worked hard to come back after having knee surgery in fall of 2020 and is set to play big-time role on pitching staff … Hard-throwing  right-hander who was one of the top hurlers in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in 2021 … Spent first two years of career at Division I Southern Illinois-Edwardsville before transferring to UCO … Regained year of eligibility after 2020 season was cut short by national health crisis … Played for both the Mexico junior national and national teams.
 
2021: Second-team All-MIAA selection after going 15-6 with 2.24 earned run average … Finished fourth in the league in wins while also ranking sixth in ERA, sixth in innings pitched (142.2) and eighth in opponent average (.248) … Appeared in 30 games with 23 starts and tossed 11 complete games, including three shutouts … Threw three-hit gem with one walk in 5-0 win over Central Missouri … Didn’t walk a batter while allowing four hits in 7-0 blanking of Northwest Missouri … Other shutout was six-hitter in 2-0 victory over Sioux Falls.

2020: Pitched in 15 games with team-high 11 starts, finishing 6-6 with 2.15 ERA … Also led UCO in complete games (seven), innings (78.0) and strikeouts (51) … Threw four straight complete games during one stretch … Ended season strong, giving up nine hits and two runs in 14 innings in back-to-back wins over league rivals Northeastern State and Rogers State … Allowed four hits in 3-2 victory over NSU and hurled five-hitter in 5-0 shutout of No. 11-ranked RSU … Struck out season-high nine in no-decision outing against St. Mary’s … Earned team’s lone save of the year in 9-2 win over Midwestern State, allowing one hit in three shutout innings.

SIUE: Appeared in 57 games with 33 starts in two years with the Cougars … Went 7-9 with one save and team-leading 3.39 ERA as a freshman in 2018 … Made 18 starts in 25 games and tossed six complete-games while striking out 92 batters in 109 1/3 innings … Needed just 69 pitches to record seventh perfect game in school history with 9-0 road win over Tennessee State … Had 8-9 record with two saves and 5.03 ERA last year … Threw 118 1/3 innings in 32 games with 15 starts and had six complete-games.

High School: Four-time All-District selection at Duncan High School, earning All-State honors as a senior after leading Demons to regional title … Threw nine no-hitters at DHS and ended career with 605 strikeouts and 1.19 ERA.
