Biography

Senior star who showed absolutely no signs of rust in his return to the lineup last fall after redshirting in 2009-10 . . . Showed that he could be even better than before with his fall performance and is a two-time All-American who ranks as one of the finest players in the nation, regardless of division . . . Long-ball hitter with excellent short game and course management skills who is a threat to win every tournament he enters . . . Owns a stellar 72.0 scoring average in 37 career tournaments with 24 top-10 finishes, including seven tournament victories.

Fall 2010:  Returned from his redshirt year in style during the fall, placing in the top six in all five tournaments while finishing with a eye-opening 69.7 scoring average . . . Was a collective 20-under-par for 13 rounds, breaking par 10 times with four rounds in the 60s . . . Was co-medalist at the St. Mary's Classic at four-under 212 after rounds of 69-71-72 . . . Tied for third at the NSU Golf Classic at two-under 140 (70-70), shot a career-low 64 in taking fifth at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate at nine-under 204 (69-64-71), tied for fifth at the Charles Coody Intercollegiate at five-under 137 (67-70) and tied for sixth at the West Texas A&M Invitational at even-par 213 (70-70-73).


2009-10:  Earned a spot in the United States Amateur Public Links Championship during the summer by winning a qualifying tournament at Lincoln Park Golf Course (West) in Oklahoma City with rounds of 68-70 for a four-under-par 138 total . . . Was runner-up in the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at Quail Creek with a three-round total of seven-under 209 total.


2008-09:  Enjoyed a sensational junior campaign, finishing a cumulative two-under-par for 32 rounds in finishing with a 71.4 average . . . Earned second-team All-America honors and was named Lone Star Conference Player of the Year . . . Won four tournament titles -- all in the spring -- and placed in the top-10 in six others while shooting 10 rounds in the 60s . . . Captured three straight tournaments in the spring, capping it with a two-shot win in the league tournament after an amazing 15-under 201 effort after rounds of 69-67-65 . . . Also won the Crawford/Wade Invitational at six-under 210, the UCO/KickingBird Classic at five-under 205 and the Ichabod Invitational while finishing runner-up in two other events . . .  Fired back-to-back 68s the last two rounds of the Division II Preview Tournament to help rally the Bronchos to an impressive win in that event . . . Had a superb summer season in 2009, winning the Oklahoma Golf Association Stroke Play Championship, making the quarterfinals of the OGA Match Play Championship and qualifying for the U.S. Amateur.

2007-08:  Enjoyed a sensational sophomore season in earning Lone Star Conference Player of the Year and second-team All-America honors . . . Had a fine 72.2 scoring average in 11 tournaments with 10 top-20 finishes, including six top-10 showings . . . Won two tournaments, taking the St. Mary's Rattler Invitational in the fall with a 72-70=142 finish and claiming the UCO/KickingBird Classic crown with a one-over-par 211 total after finishing with consecutive two-under 68s . . . Had rounds of 68-72-69 for a seven-under 209 in finishing fourth at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational . . . Shot a career-low 67 en route to a runner-up effort at the UT-Arlington Fall Classic . . . Tied for 14th in the LSC tournament and was 18th in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional . . . Worst finish was a 24th-place tie.

2006-07:  Garnered three top-10 finishes and a 73.6 stroke average through 25 rounds as a true freshman . . . Shot rounds of 69-72-72 to earn sixth place and help the Bronchos to a tournament title at the East Central University Spring Classsic . . . Finished even-par to place sixth at the Division-I dominated Oral Roberts Invitational . . . Carded three-round total of 209 to earn seventh-place showing at the UCO/KickingBird Classic . . . Posted top-20 finishes at the Drury Invitational and the St. Mary’s Rattler Invitational.

High School: Led Perry High School to their first-ever Class 3A state golf championship as a senior . . . Lapped the field by 17 strokes at the state tournament to claim medalist honors and earn first-team All-State consideration . . . Racked up 11 career high school tournament victories for the Maroons and finished with a 70.2 stroke average . . . All-Conference selection in basketball.

Personal: An industrial safety major . . . Enjoys hunting and fishing . . . Names the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Lakers as his top professional teams . . . Lists "Dead Solid Perfect" as his favorite sports movie . . . Birthdate is Feb. 11, 1988.
