Biography

Defensive veteran ready to be a main contributor at linebacker . . . Has seen plenty of starting duty during career and is a steady player with great experience . . . Tough, hard-hitting senior and team leader who knows his role . . . Has played in 27 games with 15 starts the last three years.
 
2014:  Finished with 24 tackles while playing in all 12 games with one start . . . Made season-high six tackles with five solo stops in win over Washburn . . . Had five tackles in lone start against Northeastern State . . . Also had five tackles in road romp over Nebraska-Kearney . . . Was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

2013:  Played in all 10 games with nine starts and finished with 47 tackles, including 6.0 tackles for loss, and an interception . . . Had five-plus tackles in five games, racking up career-high 12 (eight solo) with 2.0 for loss in season finale against Northeastern State . . . Made nine tackles (seven solo) with 2.0 for loss against national champion Northwest Missouri . . . Picked off first career pass in win over Lincoln.
 
2012:  Collected 30 tackles with two for loss while starting the first five games before missing second half of season to injury . . . Had five tackles in four of those games and made 10 stops against Emporia State, including two for loss.
 
2011:  Sat out redshirt year.
 
High School:  Three-sport standout at Tuttle High School . . . District MVP and Class 3A All-Star in football and played in the Oil Bowl All-Star game . . . Also earned All-Conference honors in basketball and was a two-time regional champion in the 110-meter hurdles.
 
Personal:  Education major looking for a career as a football coach . . . Father (Phillip) was his football coach at THS and brother (Sterling) was a UCO teammate the previous two years . . . Lists ‘‘Slap Shot” as his top sports movie . . . Birthdate is June 15, 1992.
