Biography

High-scoring senior ready to vie for the national championship at 149 pounds . . . Came to UCO as a junior college transfer last year and quickly became a big-time point producer with his pinning ability en route to earning All-America honors at 149 . . . Fabulous athlete who is at his best on the mat and owns a variety of pinning combinations . . . Is set for a banner final season and will once again rack up tons of team points for the Bronchos . . . Spent two years at Labette (Kan.) Community College.

2012-13:  Took over starting role at the outset and went on to fashion a stellar 31-6 record with 19 bonus-point wins, including a team-high 13 pins . . . Put together an 18-match winning streak -- seven by fall -- and won 25 of 26 matches during one stretch . . . Went 1-2 against eventual national champion Raufeon Stots of Nebraska-Kearney, winning 6-3 while losing 6-5 and 6-4 in sudden victory . . . Was runner-up in the season-opening Oklahoma City Open and took fifth in the UNK Loper Open . . . Named Outstanding Wrestler at the Jet Invitational after taking that title . . . Finished second in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Tournament with overtime loss to Stots . . . Qualified for the national meet with championship effort at the Super Regional Two Tournament, scoring two falls and a 6-3 win before edging Truman State’s Ryan Maus 6-4 in sudden victory for the title . . . Opened the national tourney with a fall and easy 8-3 win to make the semifinals before losing two straight . . . Rebounded to finish with 9-1 major decision in taking fifth to earn All-America accolades.

Juco:  Spent two years at Labette, helping lead the Cardinals to the national championship as a sophomore with third-place finish at 141 . . . Also earned Academic All-America honors.

High School:  Two-time state champion at Claremore High School, finishing with a 160-24 career record and earning All-State acclaim as a senior . . . Also an All-District pick in football and lettered in baseball and track.

Personal:  Kinesiology major looking to become a coach . . . Has five brothers . . . Names the Oklahoma City Thunder as his favorite sports team . . . Lists “Friday Night Lights” as his top sports movie . . . Birthdate is April 29, 1992.
