Biography

Senior All-American and three-time national qualifier back for a final try at the elusive national title . . . Has won plenty of big matches throughout his career and is poised for a huge season with the confidence gained from last year’s All-America campaign . . . Strong, agile heavyweight who knows how to win the tight matches and a solid anchor at the end of the lineup for the Bronchos . . . Owns an 83-37 career record with 27 falls and has won 19 matches by one point or in overtime.
 
2012-13:  Missed the first month of the season to injury, but got off to a strong start by winning his first 10 matches and ended up 26-8 with nine falls . . . Won five matches in capturing the Fort Hays State Open in his first action and followed that with a title-winning effort at the Newman Invitational . . . Scored first-period fall in final match against Nebraska-Kearney to lift UCO to 22-16 dual victory . . . Took the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association crown with a pair of wins and qualified for nationals with third-place finish at the Super Regional Two Tournament . . . Lost 2-1 decision in his national tournament opener, but came back with 3-2, 2-0 and 2-0 wins before losing two straight in finishing sixth to claim All-America honors.
 
2011-12:  Put together a 28-13 record with nine bonus-point wins, including seven falls . . . Placed in five tournaments, winning titles in the amateur bracket of the UNK Loper Open and at the Newman Invitational . . . Also placed fourth at the Oklahoma City and Fort Hays State opens in addition to taking third at the Super Regional Two Tournament to earn national tournament berth . . . Opened regional with back-to-back falls before losing tiebreaker decision in the semifinals, but rebounded with another fall and 6-4 sudden-victory decision to take third . . . Went 1-2 at nationals, following first-round loss with 8-1 consolation rout before being eliminated.
 
2010-11:  Finished 29-16 with team-high 11 falls while winning a number of big matches during the season . . . Had three tournament placings, finishing runner-up in the amateur bracket of the Nebraska-Omaha Open, third at the Newman Invitational and fourth at the Super Regional Two Tournament . . . Lost two straight matches to eventual All-Americans at the national tournament.
 
High School:  Four-time state finalist and three-time champion at El Reno High School, finishing with an impressive 130-14 career record . . . All-Stater after going 41-0 as a senior and also placed third at the National High School Coaches Association Tournament . . . District Lineman of the Year in football as well.
 
Personal:  Criminal justice major . . . Lists fishing as his favorite off-mat activity . . . Names the Baltimore Ravens as his favorite professional team . . . Lists “Vision Quest” as his top sports movie . . . Younger brother (Cory) is a teammate on the UCO team . . . Birthdate is Dec. 21, 1990.
