Biography

Two-year starter at quarterback and one of most prolific passers in school school history . . . Is slated to be the main back-up, but will definitely  compete for the starting job and is a strong-armed senior capable of taking control of the offense . . . Fantastic all-around athlete and a seasoned veteran who already owns school career records for completions (457) and attempts (782) while ranking fourth in passing yards (4,524) and sixth in total offense (4,592 yards) . . . Has had four of the top-20 passing games in school history . . . Missed spring drills while pitching for the baseball team, going 3-1 in helping the Bronchos to a 31-17 record.

2011:  Missed one game and parts of two others to an assortment of injuries, but still had the eighth-best passing season in school history with 2,078 yards while hitting 231-of-396 passes (58.3 percent) with seven touchdowns and 13 interceptions . . . Set single-game school records for completions (41) and attempts (71) in season opener at No. 6-ranked North Alabama, finishing the contest with 351 yards (eighth-best at UCO) and one touchdown . . . Threw for a career-high 404 yards (fourth-best) against Southwestern Oklahoma, completing 39-of-57 attempts . . . Was 30-of-50 for 290 yards and two TDs in hard-fought road loss to FCS-member Cal Poly.

2010:  Started all 10 games he played -- missing one to injury -- and finished with 2,444 passing yards, which ranks fifth on UCO’s single-season list . . . Completed 225-of-382 passes (58.9 percent) with 13 interceptions and 24 touchdowns, just one off the school record . . . Added 88 yards and two TDs rushing to end up with 2,532 total yards, which is the fifth-best in school history . . . Threw for 200-plus yards in eight games with a pair of 300-plus outings in earning second-team All-Lone Star Conference North Division honors . . . Picked up LSC North Division Offensive Player of the Week honors two weeks in a row . . . Won that award after hitting 19-of-24 passes for 190 yards and two TDs while also running for a score in a 37-21 win over Tarleton State and took it again the next week after going 30-of-51 for 350 yards and four TDs in an overtime loss to Incarnate Word . . . That 350-yard game ranks as the ninth-best at UCO and also had the 19th-best with a 310-yard performance against Eastern New Mexico while completing 23-of-33 passes with two scores . . . Threw at least one touchdown pass in all 10 games and had three four-TD games (UIW, SOSU and Angelo State).

2009:  Played in just three games as the back-up, completing 1-of-4 passes for two yards . . . Got the bulk of his action in second half at Texas A&M-Kingsville, attempting all four passes in that contest . . . Saw some duty as a relief pitcher for the UCO baseball team in the spring of 2010.

High School:  Three-sport star at Eufaula High School . . . Enjoyed a sensational senior season on the gridiron, hitting 240-of-400 passes for 3,750 yards and 43 touchdowns in earning All-District, All-Area MVP and All-State recognition . . . Scored the winning touchdown in the All-State game following his senior season . . . Also an All-Conference pick in basketball and an honorable mention All-Stater in baseball for the Ironheads.

Personal:  A kinesiology major looking for a career as a physical therapist . . . Names the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite professional team . . . Lists "Friday Night Lights" as his top sports movie . . . Birthdate is Aug. 10, 1990.
