Biography
Senior star and one of the elite players in NCAA Division II . . . Has been a mainstay for the Bronchos since the first tournament of his freshman year and is poised to finish his stellar career in style . . . Long-ball hitter with an excellent short game who has the ability to win every tournament he enters . . . Qualifed for the 111th United States Amateur Championship this summer after shooting a seven-under-par 135 at the Oklahoma City Golf and County Club to win a qualifying tournament . . . Has finished in the top 20 in 31 of 41 career tournaments with the Bronchos, including 21 top-10s, 17 top-fives and two wins . . . Shot in the 60s 21 times during his career.
Fall 2012: Was a dominating force during the five-tournament fall schedule, winning one title and finishing in the top-four three other times while putting together a 70.6 average . . . Was seven-under par for 13 rounds, shooting in the 60s four times . . . Captured the Dornick Hills Classic crown with a one-under 209 total after steady rounds of 70-69-70 . . . Tied for second in the Northeastern State Classic at four-under 209 (72-70-67), was third at the Lion Fall Invitational with a seven-under 173 (65-72) and had a first-round 67 en route to a fourth-place effort at the Regional Preview . . . Other finish was a 20th-place tie in the Charles Coody Invitational.
2010-11: Enjoyed a superb junior year in picking up second-team All-Lone Star Conference and third-team All-America honors . . . Played in all 13 tournaments and had a 72.3 average for 37 rounds, shooting in the 60s nine times . . . Placed in the top 20 in 12 events and had six top-10 showings . . . Was runner-up at the 61st SoCal Intercollegiate Championships and finished third in the stroke-play portion of the national tournament at three-under 213 with rounds of 71-72-70 . . . Tied for fifth in the LSC Tournament, firing a final-round 69 to help the Bronchos rally for that team title . . . Was also fifth at the West Texas A&M Invitational with a one-under-par 212 total, tied for eighth at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate at four-under 208 and was ninth at the UCO/KickingBird Classic at 221.
2009-10: Struggled some in the fall before coming on strong in the spring and finished with a 73.9 average in 11 tournaments with five top-five finishes . . . Earned first-team All-LSC and All-South Central Region honors . . . Had a 72.7 average in eight spring events, reeling off consecutive finishes of 2-3-1-3 during one four-week stretch with six rounds in the 60s . . . Shot 67-68 the first day of the Air Force Invitational en route to capturing that title for his first collegiate victory . . . Used a career-low 65 in the second round to spark a runner-up finish in the DBU Patriot Invitational, had a middle-round 67 in finishing third in the UCO/KickingBird Classic and finished 67-66 to rally for a third-place showing in the league tournament . . . Also tied for fifth in the Red River Invitational . . . Tied for 12th in the South Central Regional . . . Was runner-up at the Oklahoma Golf Association Match Play State Amateur in the summer while finished 12th in the OGA Stroke Play State Amateur.
2008-09: Started in his first-ever college tournament and went on to put together a stellar 73.7 average while playing in every event . . . Was named Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year and a second-team All-LSC pick . . . Was also one of five players selected for the NCAA Division II All-Freshmen team and earned honorable mention All-America honors . . . Had six top-11 finishes in 12 tournaments, highlighted by an impressive runner-up showing at the Division II Preview Tournament after rounds of 75-67-68 for a three-under-par 210 total . . . Was also third at the Newman Invitational at one-under 143 and tied for ninth at the Texhoma Championship during the fall . . . Came in seventh at the UCO/KickingBird Classic and ninth in the Crawford/Wade Invitational during the spring while also taking 17th at the league tournament at two-under 214 (73-67-74).
High School: Had a dominating last two years at Edmond Santa Fe High School, leading the Wolves to a third-place state tournament finish as a senior . . . Finished with a 72.5 scoring average for his career, placing third in the state meet as a junior and fourth as senior . . . Was runner-up at the OGA Match Play State Amateur the summer after his senior year.
