UCO Season Ends With Heartbreak

Bronchos Lose Lead Late, Fall To NSU, Miss Playoffs On Final Day Of Season

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma dropped the final game of the 2024-25 season 68-60 to Northeastern State.
 
UCO's season ends with a final record of 8-20 overall and 7-12 in the MIAA. The Bronchos finished 11th in KPI standings, just missing out on the MIAA Basketball Championship next week in Kansas City.
 
Central Oklahoma led by 11 points, 55-44, at the end of the third quarter, but NSU pulled off an incredible 20-0 run that spanned most of the quarter. The guest Riverhawks outscored UCO 24-5 in the frame for the eight-point victory.
 
Jordyn Turner and Korie Allensworth both led Central Oklahoma with 14 points apiece. Turner had a team-high nine rebounds too.
 
Peyton Walker scored nine points, Alexis Lewis and Talia Pogi scored seven each, and Karly Wadsworth added five points. LaKysia Johnson rounded out the scoring with four points.
 
Central Oklahoma went 20-for-62 in Saturday's finale. The Bronchos were 7-for-25 from behind the 3-point line and 13-for-17 at the free-throw line. UCO went just 1-for-16 in the fourth quarter.
 
Saturday's game was only tied once, at 57-57, and NSU took its first lead of the game moments late, 59-57, with 3:16 left in the fourth quarter. The Bronchos led for 35 minutes, 23 seconds of the game. NSU led for 3:16.
