Central Oklahoma Set 19 New School Records In '24 Football Season

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma's 2024 football season will go down in the history books for several reasons, including the team and squad members setting 19 new school records during the 13-game campaign that took the Bronchos (11-2) to the second round of the NCAA playoffs.

Whether single game or single season, Jett Huff, Terrill Davis, Kobey Stephens, and Nicky Quevedo combined to set 12 new individual school records, and the team set seven new school records as a group.

Central Oklahoma set a single game record for most yards of total offense in Week 2 against Central Missouri, racking up 731 yards. There were also a school record 42 passes completed in that game.

The Bronchos set five single season records. UCO posted 4,323 yards passing and 6,997 yards of total offense this season. Central tallied 337 first downs and scored 577 total points – an average of 44.3 per game. All five marks are new school records for Central Oklahoma, which has competed in 117 seasons of football.

The Central Missouri game in Week 2 included the passing completions record. All 42 were from the sophomore quarterback Huff. He connected on 42 of 54 passes (77 percent) for 457 yards and four touchdowns. Huff also scrambled for 35 yards in the game and his 492 yards of total offense are the most by any player in school history for a single game.

Huff also set new school records for most passes completed in a single season (272), most touchdown passes in a single season (34), and most yards passing in a single season (3,586). With his 34 passing touchdowns, and two more rushing touchdowns, Huff set one more school record for most touchdowns responsible for in a single season with 36.

A benefactor of Huff's success, and a key reason for it too, is Davis. The junior wide receiver set four school records himself this season.

Davis hauled in four touchdown passes against Fort Hays State – all in the first half – to tie a school record for most in a single game. Two weeks later, Davis hauled in 15 receptions in one game against Northwest Missouri, setting a new school record. Davis later tied that mark with 15 catches against Emporia State.

Davis set two single season records in 2024 as well. His 1,609 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns are both UCO records.

In 2024, UCO's special teams were just that – special. With the Bronchos setting a new scoring record this season, Quevedo, a senior kicker, connected on 70 PATs to shatter the previous record of 51. Stephens, who had three touchdowns himself on special teams, set a new school record for best punt return average for a single season at 25.8 yards per return.

Central Oklahoma's record book includes Top 5 and Top 10 lists for several team and individual performances. Adjustments are to be made for 18 lists in addition to the 19 school records.
