Six Future Bronchos To Compete In All-State Dual

EDMOND – Reigning national champion Central Oklahoma will have six incoming freshmen compete in the Oklahoma All-State wrestling dual Wednesday in Tulsa.
 
Newcomers set to take the mat in the 7 p.m. dual at Union High School are Logan Cash of Shawnee, Eli Kirk of Guthrie, Will Heger and Dailey Jennings of El Reno, Kaleb Owen of Perry and Tucker Waitman of Tuttle.
 
"We're really proud of these guys and what they accomplished in high school," UCO head coach Todd Steidley said. "I'm excited to see what they can do for us in the next few years."
 
Cash was a two-time state placer for the Wolves, going 31-5 in winning a state championship as a senior this past season. He will wrestle at heavyweight for the Large East in the All-State match.
 
Kirk was a four-time state placer for the Bluejays, finishing with a 118-21 career record. He went 68-3 the last two seasons in capturing back-to-back state titles.
 
Heger made three appearances in the state finals, winning two titles, in compiling a 134-19 career record. Jennings was a three-time state qualifier, earning a state championship as a senior to cap a 40-5 season.
 
Kirk, Heger and Jennings are all on the Large West team, with Kirk at 126 pounds, Jennings at 132 and Heger at 138.
 
Owen will go for the Small East at 165 pounds. The four-time state qualifier won a pair of titles in putting together a 138-38 career record.
 
Waitman made the finals three times for the Tigers, claiming two crowns. A 175-pounder for the Small West, he went 91-20 for his career.
